Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct describes how we work at Zation and how we treat each other. It applies to all employees, interns, and external contractors. We expect the same standard of behaviour from our partners and suppliers.

Our values

Five values define what Zation stands for.

  • Focused. We concentrate on what truly creates value. We do not spread ourselves thin.
  • Informed. We decide on the basis of facts and data, not from the gut.
  • Challenging. We question assumptions, including our own. We do not shy away from difficult conversations.
  • Committed. We go the extra mile when it is needed. We deliver on what we promise.
  • Sustainable. We think in long-term effects, not in short-term advantages. This applies to our customers, our people, and our environment.

How we act

Five behaviours shape our daily work.

  • Teamwork. We work as a team. Successes are ours together. Problems we solve together.
  • Expertise. Know-how is our asset. We invest in our knowledge and share it across the team.
  • Empowering. We empower each other and our customers. We pass on responsibility instead of holding it back.
  • Consultative. We are all consultants. No matter the role, we think along, question, and advise.
  • Accountable. We take ownership for outcomes. Even when something goes wrong, we own it.

How we treat each other

Discrimination and harassment have no place at Zation. This includes sexual, ethnic, religious, or ideological harassment, as well as discrimination based on gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation. Bullying and demeaning behaviour are not tolerated.

We resolve conflicts directly and respectfully. When that is not enough, we involve HR or management. We see diversity as a strength. Different perspectives make us better.

How we treat customers and partners

We communicate transparently. Uncomfortable truths are part of that. We recommend to our customers what is right for them, not what is most profitable for us. Our offers are traceable. We keep our commitments, or we inform in time when something cannot be delivered.

We handle customer data and confidential information with the highest care. This applies during and after a project.

Anti-corruption

We do not give or accept undue advantages. Gifts and invitations are acceptable in a reasonable scope. Values above CHF 100 require approval by the line manager. We disclose conflicts of interest as soon as they arise or might arise. Political activities are private and not in the name of Zation.

Handling information

We protect confidential information entrusted to us. We process personal data in line with applicable law. We respect the intellectual property of others. We protect our own intellectual property. We do not use insider information for personal gain.

Fair business practices

We compete fairly and legally. We do not enter into anti-competitive agreements with competitors. We collect market information from public sources, not through questionable methods.

Work environment

We provide safe working conditions on site and in home office. Flexible work arrangements are our standard. We set clear expectations around availability. No one is forced to do anything that violates this Code.

Environment and society

We use resources consciously. We reduce travel, energy, materials, and hardware use where this makes sense. We take our role as a Swiss company seriously. We choose suppliers not only by price, but also by ethical and environmental criteria.

Reporting violations

Violations can be reported confidentially. Options are:

  • Line manager
  • HR
  • Directly to the CEO
  • External bodies, if an internal solution is not possible

Anyone who reports a violation in good faith will not face disadvantages. Anonymous reports are possible, but limited in what can be investigated.

Consequences

Violations are handled depending on severity, with measures ranging from warning, training, reassignment, to termination. In the case of unlawful behaviour, we reserve the right to take legal action.

Applicability to partners and suppliers

We expect the same standard of behaviour from our partners and suppliers. Critical and high-risk suppliers confirm receipt of our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Changes to this Code

We update this Code as needed, at least every two years. The current version is always available at this URL.
